Ghorepani- poonhill trek is a short trek inside the Annapurna Region. It is a tiny loop circuit inisde Annapurna Circuit. The Trekking trial is targetted to the people who have extremely short time to experience the trek in Nepal. This trekking trial can be done by children aged between 8-14 Years. It is Very Easy trial and Suitable for beginners.The most Popular Destinations for this trek are poon-hill for the view of spectacular Annapurna range and fabulous village like Ghorepani and Gandruk.

This is an excellent short trek on the foothill of the Annapuran. It offers one of the most spectacular views of Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri and a close look at Gurung and Magar people , Who comprised and contributed to the famous Gorkha army. A side trip to Pun Hill (3,193m) is the highest of this area.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport and transfer to Hotel.
Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and warm welcome by our representive from Plan Nepal Travel & Tour, transfer to Hotel. Free time, later short information about the trip and evening welcome dinner in Nepali typical Restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseing.
After Breakfast,we will explore the historical place Bhaktapur the best cultural and historical place. later on, we will explore boudhanath, the largest stupa in south Asia.The Bouddha area is a visual feast. Colorful thangkas, jewellery, hand-woven carpets, and khukuri knives are sold in the surrounding stalls.Pashupatinath temple one of the best hindu temple and Swoyambhunath. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara and Boating In Fewa Lake.
After Breakfast 6 hrs Drive to Pokhara about 200km on the way Encounter with scenery of River, forest and countryside. Check in to the Hotel.After a time, Walk around Lakeside and take a boat ride on fewa lake with stop at the Barahi Temple. Roaming around the lake side with the colourful bazars, Coffe shops. 

Day 04: Pokhara–Nayapul–Hile(1,490m) 
From Pokhara to Nayapul, it takes about 1 ½ hour by driving. The road is reasonably good. At the place of Nayapul, within short walk, one can cross suspension bridge. After that, follows up bank of Modi River to Birethanti. From there mountain trail leads through bamboo forest and passes a large waterfall-summing hole. The trail stays on the north bank of Bhurundi River to Bajagara. Beyond a pasture used by Pony caravans, the trail reaches sudami then climbs steadily up through the valley reaching Hile (1,495m). Walking time takes about 5 hours, overnight at camp.

Day 05: Hile – Ghorepani (1,490m – 2,850m) 
From the place of Hile, after a short walk the trail crosses a steam on suspension bridge and leads the climb very steeply on a stone staircase. It leads continuously steep to the large village of Uleri at 2070m. From there one can see first eye catching mountain views of Annapurna south (7219m), Himchuli (6440m) and Fishtail (6996m). After that, the trail leads through deep magnificent oak and Rhododendron forest up to Ghorepani (2850m). Walking time takes about 7 hours, over night at camp.

Day 06: Ghorepani – Poonhill – Tadapani (2,850m – 2,590m) 
At the place of Ghorepani to Poonhill (3210m), trail leads climbing very steeply on a stone staircase. Walking time takes about 1½ hour to the top. From the Poonhill, one can see view of Sunrise and breath taking mountains views such as Dhaulagiri , Nilgiri, Annapurna I, and Annapurna south, Himchuli, Annapurna III, Fishtail, Annapurna IV, and Annapurna II and so on. After Poonhill, ascends to Ghorepani from there to Tadapani (2590m). Mountain trail leads several times ascending and descending. It passes several villages through oak and Rhododendron forest. Walking times takes approximately 6 hours, overnight at camp.

Day 07: Tadapani–Ghandrung(2,590m–1,940m) 
Trail leads to Ghandrug from Tadapani all the way of descends and flat through the oak and Rhododendron Forest. Walking time takes about 3 hours, over night at camp.

Day 08: Ghandrung – Nayapul – Pokhara 
At the place of Ghandrug trail leads to Nayapul, the route almost descending and flat through the bank of Modi River and passes several villages such as Kimle, Shyauli Bazzar, and Birethani and comes Nayapul. Walking times takes about 5 hours, after Nayapul drives back to Pokhara.

Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu.
You have the option to extend your trip to Chitwan jungle safari, rafting , Kathmandu valley sightseeing and Shopping, mountain biking and other activities in Nepal.If any Activites we will go throught it otherwise, Drive back to Kathmandu and overnight at a hotel.

Day 10: Depature.

While trekking during the day at lower altitudes, lightweight trekking trousers and T-shirts are recommended, it's always a good idea to carry a waterproof jacket and some dry warmer clothing with you. For the cold nights, thermal, a warm jacket and a down jacket will help to keep you warm.
We can find variety of these gears to hire or buy in Kathmandu. Majority of the gears are also provided by Plan Nepal Tours and the gear which are in sale in Kathmandu are locally manufactured or imported from China. Very high quality branded gears can also be bought in some stores in Kathmandu. We can guide you if you wish. This list should be considered as an essential summary and, it might be incomplete. 

1. Trekking Equipment

  • 3-4 season sleeping bag (Optional. we can provide if you do not have your own and it is to be returned after the trek ).
  •  Duffel or main bag to keep your all the gear and this will be carried by the porters on whole trekking duration.

  • Diamox or Acetylzolamide as Anti-altitude sickness pills
  • 1 set of earplugs (optional)
  • Aspirin, first-aid tape, and plasters (Band-Aids)
  • Diamox 125 or 250mg tablets for altitude sickness.
  • Cough and/or cold medicine
